She attests to children learning to be confident, independent, capable, and competent because they are complete and can take risks with great care.  She believes in the child-led approach, with the best teacher being the environment; she will be the facilitator by guiding, supporting, and encouraging children, and she always learns alongside them. Ms. Riana will always be the children’s biggest cheerleader as she inspires, protects and nurtures them, whatever their interests.  Through exercising the “100 languages of the child”, children strengthen their powers, contribute to their communities, and build relationships by having a voice and being heard. She sees each child as a curious, capable individual with rights who each possess their own unique talents, skills and experiences which help contribute to the community. Meka remains an enthusiastic life long learner and inspires children to be the same. She works to build strong meaningful relationships which allow her to better understand the way in which each child constructs knowledge. As an educator her role is to observe, listen attentively, reflect and collaborate with the learning community to help every child discover their passions and reach their full potential.  She believes the environment (or third teacher) is an essential component in learning and is committed to providing children with a safe, warm and nurturing environment rich in materials that sparks curiosity, creation and discovery.
